Q-Wave’s Code of Conduct
Q-Wave is committed to fostering a safe environment of belonging and inclusion for our community. We aim to build a community where lesbian, bisexual, trans, and queer women, trans men, and gender non-conforming/non-binary/trans folks of East Asian, Southeast Asian, South Asian, West Asian, and Pacific Islander descent feel that they belong. We are committed to maintaining an environment wherein everyone is treated with respect, dignity, support, and compassion. We understand that there may not be one space that is completely safe from harm, violence, and oppression, but we strive to create safer spaces. By participating within our listserv and/or attending our virtual or in-person events, you agree to the tenets of Q-Wave’s Code of Conduct.
Q-Wave’s Code of Conduct:
We are fierce advocates for the rights and safety of our queer, trans, and nonbinary community. Behavior that is harmful to others or disruptive to our communal sense of belonging will not be tolerated.
This includes, but is not limited to the following:
Verbal, physical, and sexual harassment, including abusive language and gestures, threats directed at others, or stalking
Bullying or intimidation of any sort, including cyberbullying and non-consensual distribution of intimate images
All forms of discrimination, harassment, and aggressions based on age, disability, gender identity or expression, national origin, race, religion, sex, or sexual orientation
Fraudulent services/products or withholding payment for services/products
If you are found to be in violation of this code of conduct, you may be removed from our listserv and/or prohibited from attending virtual or in-person events in the future.
The Q-Wave Steering Committee is fully volunteer-run, and we cannot moderate all activity within this community. Please use your best judgment when interacting with people in our community.
Since 2004, we have worked tirelessly to create a safer Q-Wave community. We deeply wish that we continue to take good care of ourselves and one another.
